Cù-Sìth

Inspired by Scottish folklore, I wanted to create a sense of intrigue and curiosity for the audience. The Cù-Sìth is a fairy dog said to roam the Scottish Highlands, and my aim is to spark interest in our heritage and encourage people to research the stories behind these creatures and the places they’re tied to. This particular creature is lesser known, so I’ve drawn from traditional tales to give it a wildly hairy, green, glowing mane, contrasted with an underworld-like skeletal form beneath. I kept the glowing yellow eyes but added a cheeky tongue to make the design feel less serious.The overall concept is bold and intentionally unusual, prompting the viewer to wonder what it might be—until the title ‘Cù-Sìth’ makes its identity clear and invites them to explore the stories surrounding its encounters.
